Utah Trip: Day 6...Final Entry

Well...it's all over. My 6 days of freedom, friendship and fun... I learned so much about myself (particularily how burnt out I was allowing myself to get...glad that's all fixed now!), and those around me. I really enjoyed building and strengthening old friendships and creating new ones.

I want to say thank you (for 6 things...one for every day of the trip) to...

Adam first off...For:
~ agreeing to the trip in the first place and being ok with me tagging along
~ being a fun travelling companion
~ bringing along Mad Libs
~ having awesome taste in music
~ doing so much of the driving...it was nice to have a break
and
~ being my friend...I'm sure it's not an easy thing, but I really appreciate you for who you are, and everything you have done for me this past year. I'm not sure you'll ever really know how much your friendship has meant to me, but just trust me that it's a lot!

Gretchen...For:
~ making the choice to go on a mission
~ being such a cool person
~ being so thoughtful
~ having awesome taste in tons of things
~ re-introducing me to the world of Blogging
and
~ loving to take pictures

Maddie...For:
~ also making the choice to go on a mission
~ being so happy and full of laughter
~ having such a fun personality to be around
~ having such a beautiful smile
~ enduring through the pain of your foot to spend time making memories with us
and
~ letting me be a part of your "maiden voyage" in your car

Ann...For:
~ staying up late to talk to me
~ making me feel so loved on my birthday
~ being so aware of those around you
~ giving me hope that everything will work out someday
~ the game, music book and CD
and
~ being so willing to include us

Ryan...For:
~ all of the many memories from your time spent out here
~ your great smile and laugh
~ letting us come over for some awesome food
~ being so thoughtful in remembering my birthday
~ making the choice to go on a mission
and
~ always being so honest

To everyone else that I have not mentioned...it's not that I'm not grateful to you...I'm just tired. A huge thanks to everyone who helped make this trip possible...and fun! I love you all and I will never forget all the wonderful times we've all had together :)

Hugs all around...

Utah Trip: Day 5

Ok, so I'm pretty sure that my birthday this year was one of my best yet. After I wrote last night Ann and Maddie came home...and they gave me a game called Imaginiff (which I can't wait to play at FHE!) and had made me some pumpkin bars (they were super good!!!). Ann (because she knows I like to play games) and I played a round of Spit (which I think is the same thing as Speed in Canada). We then stayed up until 2 this morning talking before heading off to bed. She's so awesome and I really enjoyed that time getting to know her better.

This morning I packed up and got all ready to leave (and I was so sad) and then Adam and I talked with Maddie and Ann and made the decision to stay an extra night and drive all the way back tomorrow. Soooo we ended up spending the afternoon in Lehi (at Deseret Book and Walmart), Alpine (at a super awesome candy shop...which made me miss Zacks :( ) and at Thanksgiving Point (in the Dinosaur Museum!). It was a blast. There was a quote that I found at Deseret Book which I really liked... "When someone you Love becomes a Memory that Memory becomes a Treasure". It made me think of Curtis especially, but also Owen too...and Josh, and my Grandma. I have many Memories in my life that have become Treasures and that quote really hit home with me today. Yesterday watching the bloopers from YSA Christmas I'll admit I got a little teary eyed. I had been purposefully avoiding watching anything with Curtis in it yet because I didn't feel I was ready for it, and I think I was right, but at the same time I'm glad that I got it over with. Anyways it was really nice to see that quote today.

I have really enjoyed my time out here, and I'm going to be very sad to say goodbye tomorrow...and there's no more plan changing that can happen to make it better :( I'm so glad I've had this opportunity to spend this time out here... I'll be posting my final trip post tomorrow!
